5th Annual Juneteenth Community Celebration - Zawadi Cultural Collective

Mark you calendars for Zawadi's and Black In The Valley's 5th annual Juneteenth Celebration held on June 18th at Woodley Park. Once a regionally celebrated holiday, Juneteenth has grown in national notoriety and prestige. Zawadi was the 1st valley nonprofit to present a celebration for this holiday to the general public. Each year our program and attendance has grown with the popularity of the holiday. Last year over 500 people attended our event which featured Comedian Sydney Castillo. This year will be bigger and better with a few celebrity invited guests. Come and meet your local political representative, learn more about how your community can serve you or participate in a cultural dance performance. It all begins with our weekly food distribution starting at 10 am. The celebration will start at 1pm. There will be games, give aways, raffles, free food, quality entertainment and information for all.
