Calm Mornings: The Goonies

Imagine that a legendary pirate has buried a hidden treasure in your neighborhood, just like in the movie The Goonies (1985). During our Calm Mornings program on Saturday, June 27, from 9am to 1pm, families can create their own treasure map depicting familiar landmarks; put an X on the spot where the treasure might be hidden; and even decorate their own treasure chests.
It’s all inspired by the accessible screening of The Goonies at 11am* in the Tedd Mann Theater.
ASL interpretation is provided.
9–10am | Early gallery access
Explore the galleries in Jaws: The Exhibition, on Level 4. Sound and lighting adjustments will provide a more sensory-friendly experience.
10am–1pm | Family workshop
Visit the Shirley Temple Education Studio... on the museum’s Lower Level for a workshop inspired by the accessible screening of The Goonies.
In addition to the Calm Mornings program, we encourage visitors to attend our accessible, open-caption screening of The Goonies at 11am in the Ted Mann Theater. The screening is part of our weekly Family Matinees series. A separate admission ticket is required. The Shirley Temple Education Studio will remain open during the screening as a space for relaxation and artmaking until 1pm.
