Debate classes focus on exposing students to a variety of national, international, humanities, and science topics. Students are taught how to build a debate case, research methods, note taking, and argumentation skills in order for the student to quickly think on their feet while in a debate. Students are expected to follow current events, navigate the internet, read expository articles, and build case files. Additionally there will be a few online Debate labs throughout the semester.
*Prerequisite: Students enrolling in this class must have taken at least 1 semester of Art of Public Speaking or completed advanced Little Orator classes.
