In this month’s workshop, we honor Pride Month and Juneteenth in collaboration with Pickle the Drag Queen and friends. Pickle and a fellow artist conduct a workshop covering the elements and history of drag, including the impact of Black drag performers and how they have played an important role in the evolution of the art form.
Stay for a discussion on the influence of drag culture in media and representation in film, as well as how performance is an essential element of drag. Pickle also invites a talented artist to teach a cornerstone of drag: Voguing.
If you have any questions or need assistance planning your visit, please email museumeducation@oscars.org.
