Rising Debater: Introduction to Public Forum (4th-5th)

Public Forum Debate (PF) is a competitive debate format widely practiced in high schools and colleges. It features two teams, each consisting of two debaters, who engage in argumentation over a current event. Campers will work in pairs to analyze both sides of current issues, construct evidence-based arguments, and engage in structured debates. They will also explore responsible AI use for research, fact-checking, and organizing case files.
How it Applies to the Real World: Public Forum Debate aims to foster critical thinking, communication skills, research and the ability to construct persuasive arguments
Deliverable: At the end of the camp students will participate in a in class showcase where they will receive feedback and a certificate of completion to illustrate their learning
