From guided night hiking and stargazing, to astrophotography, astronomy and dark sky conservation, SkyFest Big Bear is inspiring exploration and preservation of the sky above us!
Attendees are invited to "choose their own adventure". By selecting activities of interest, you'll create a personalized event itinerary over 2 days. Activities include:
- Star Party Festival: A family friendly festival environment with telescopes to peer at stars and planets, documentaries on dark sky conservation, night yoga, childrens story time, games, s'mores, and more.
Saturday, August 23, 7 PM - 11 PM at Big Bear Discovery Center, 40971 North Shore Dr. $5/person
- Night Hike & Stargaze: A guided night hike and stargazing from one of Big Bear's best vantage points, the top of Snow Summit. Includes a ride on the Sky Chair and admission into the Star Party Festival.
Friday & Saturday, August 22 & 23 from 9 PM - 11 PM at Snow Summit, 880 Summit Blvd. $25/person, $10 child ticket
- Astrophotography: Brady Enger of Bending Energy Photography is a master behind the lens capturing the landscape, wildlife and our beautiful night sky. Now, he's leading a workshop geared towards aspiring photographers looking to capture the stars. Includes admission to Star Party Festival
Friday (beginner) & Saturday (advanced), August 22 & 23. Start times vary. Meets at Juniper Point, 41365 N Shore Dr. $25/person
- Forest Sound Bath: A refreshing forest bathing accompanied by a soothing sound bath including the beautiful sounds of singing bowls. This meditative experience under a pine forest canopy promotes relaxation and mindfulness. Includes admission to Star Party Festival
Friday & Saturday, August 22 & 23, 7 PM - 8 PM at Action Zipline - Address emailed after ticket purchase. $35/person, $10 child ticket
