Looking for a summer camp that gets kids outside, builds confidence, and teaches real-life skills? The Dana West Youth Sailing Summer Camp offers a fun, safe, and engaging introduction to sailing for children ages 7-18 at beautiful Dana Point Harbor.
Designed especially for first-time sailors, this camp helps kids learn the basics of sailing in a supportive and encouraging environment. No prior sailing experience is needed — in fact, most campers are brand new to sailing. Certified instructors teach age-appropriate skills using small, easy-to-handle boats that are perfect for younger kids.
Throughout the week, campers learn how to steer, control the sails, work as a team, and stay safe on the water. Beyond sailing skills, kids also build confidence, independence, and problem-solving abilities while enjoying plenty of time outdoors. Instruction takes place in the calm, protected waters of Dana Point Harbor, making it an ideal setting for youth sailing.
Safety is a top priority at Dana West. Campers must bring properly fitted life jackets, and instructors are on the water in coach boats to provide guidance and support. The program emphasizes positive encouragement and fun, helping kids feel comfortable trying something new.
Many children return year after year, and for those who discover a passion for sailing, Dana West also offers a year-round junior sailing and racing program for ages 7–18.
Whether your child loves the ocean, enjoys being active outdoors, or is simply curious to try something new, Dana West Youth Sailing Summer Camp provides a memorable summer experience that combines fun, learning, and adventure on the water.
